BLAZE BAYLEY Performs A Cappella In Czech Republic; Video Available
July 3, 2012After his concert in Jaromer, Czech Republic on June 30 as part of the Rock Rebellion festival was reportedly canceled by the promoter, British heavy metal vocalist Blaze Bayley (IRON MAIDEN, WOLFSBANE) performed impromptu a cappella versions of the songs "The Clansman" (IRON MAIDEN) and "Soundtrack Of My Life" (BLAZE) while accompanied by a couple of dozen fans or so clapping and singing along. Video footage of this unique event can be seen below.
Commented Blaze: "When I arrived [in the Czech Republic], I had photos with some fans and signed some stuff. Then the tour manager told me the festival was canceled because of no electricity! I was gutted. The stage looked really nice — purpose built with a big sound system and lots of lights, but nothing working. . . Some of my hardcore Czech fans were still there and the only thing I could do as a kind of thank you to them for their support was sing a couple of songs on my own a cappella.
"I'm so sorry to everyone who travelled and didn't get the day of metal that they paid for. I will now return to Prague on the 4th of August as a special guest of SEVEN, the top Czech band."
Bayley's new studio album, "The King Of Metal", was released in March. The CD was recorded at Fear Studio in Ravenna, Italy.
